Steam generator sizing guide

Size Your Steam Shower System Correctly

Correct generator sizing depends on room dimensions, materials, and layout. This guide explains what matters — and when it’s best to get help before purchasing.

Why sizing matters

Undersized steam generators struggle to maintain steam density and temperature. Oversized systems cycle inefficiently and can shorten component life.

Proper sizing improves warm-up time, comfort, and long-term system reliability. Most issues we see come from incorrect sizing or incompatible components chosen early in the process.

Room dimensions

Length, width, and ceiling height determine cubic volume.

Materials

Tile, stone, glass, and concrete affect heat retention.

Ceiling height

Taller spaces require more generator capacity.

What to measure

Length × Width × Height (interior)
Ceiling height
Wall/ceiling materials (tile, stone, glass)
Bench or window?
Electrical service available (if known)
If you’re unsure, request sizing help — we’ll guide you.

When to request sizing help

Request sizing assistance if your ceiling exceeds 8 feet, you’re using stone or glass, your layout includes benches or windows, or you’re unsure about electrical service or control compatibility.

A quick review now prevents expensive changes later.
